NATO Tiger Meet 2016 Eurofighter Typhoon

Post by BlackSheep214 »

I've been working on this one off and on for the past 5 months. I had to order Spanish roundels for this since the Syhart NATO Tiger Meet didn't come with the roundels :headbang: . You'd think they know better to INCLUDE the roundels. Nope..

This is the 1/72 scale RoG Eurofighter Typhoon in Spanish NATO Tiger Meet 2016 scheme. A fun build indeed and a sexy fighter jet.

Looks great. Worth the wait.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

:shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: Good looking clean build of a Typhoon! The Tiger Meet markings are very sharp!

Patience paid off Tom. She turned out great - I've yet to do a tiger meet bird. They certainly do catch the eye.
Thanks,
John

Very nice build Tom, I love those Markings! I have the same kit in the stash although (surprise surpirse) I've got the RAF boxing. How well did it go together, any issues?

No major issues I was aware of. The landing struts are very fiddly so be careful removing them for the sprue tree. I had one snap off and had to glue it back on.
Too fiddly to glue onto the main struts. I opt to glue the main strut to wheel well, then glue the fiddly bit afterwards. Makes it easier to glue on without further opportunity to snap it off. Worked for me.

I'll post pic of what part I'm talking about later.

I've got couple more aftermarket Tiger Meet decal sets in my stash. I do have a few commemorative schemes as well - mostly for Viper kits.

This is the Eurofighter kit I bought...

Image

Ok... take a look in Steps 19 & 20, the main struts and the fiddly struts needs to be assembled in these steps.

Image

Once they're assembled, they have to be inserted in the wheel wells as shown in Steps 23 & 24.

Image

Kinda playing with fire with the risk of snapping the fiddly struts easily.

That's why I installed the main ones before the fiddly ones. Makes the potential to snap of to zero if done separately. Worked for me.
