I hear ya. I had a cyst removed last year; I was on my stomach with my feet hanging off the table. When the doctor began numbing (yeah, right) the already very tender area, it hurt so damned much! My wife was sitting in with me and she said my toes were curling under! No sh*t. And she kept right on sticking me...until it was, thankfully, numb.

Yeah same here. Luckily I had a very nice doc cause I was using a lot of cuss words. She got me talking about models to take my mind of it.

We practive a hobby that is not for the weak.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Well that gives new meanings to the terms thong wrist strap and Rosie palm...

One time I got two of my fingertips smashed in a drilling rig platform I was trying to show a fellow what I wanted done to it to make it safer. He reached up by reflex and tripped the catch and before I knew it those two fingertips were caught it what was a loose fitting metal brake. It hurt so bad I think my brain just said screw this because it wasn't as bad a few minutes later. The doctor had to remove two fingernails to get in to put things back together so I asked him to be sure and clean them before he put them back on. The nurse nearly fainted. Obviously I don't remember anything about any numbing shots hurting. 35 or so years later I have most of the feeling back in those fingertips but they still look a little too big.

I nearly passed out on the way to the ER. Don't know how I managed to stay conscious. :giggles:

It's healing really well. I'm able to use my thumb more and more.

Sorry the hear about your bad luck Mike. Hope you are back at the bench soon.
I've had two hobby knife mishaps in my life. The most recent about 20 years ago, using an X-acto knife to try and cut through a zip tie (yea, not even hobby related). It was a pretty dumb Idea and it happened right about the time I realized that fact :bag: . I sliced the top of my hand open between my thumb and index finger. Still have a 1/2 inch scar -- don't remember how many stiches it was. The first incident occurred when I was a teenager. The X-acto knife fell on the floor somehow and I did not see it. Had no shoes on and when I moved my foot the entire length of the blade went into the side of my heel. I pulled it out and a gush of blood came with it. I squeezed my heel together a few minutes until it stopped bleeding and never told my parents. Not sure how it healed up (No Pun Intended) without medical attention...

OK my turn. Mike I hope its feeling better everyday.

I've done the normal oopsy with an Xacto but nothing serious

When I was a teen I worked at Denny's. Got my right thumb nicked by the deli wheel slicer. Peeled me open pretty quickly. Didn't hurt at all. Still have the scar almost 40years later.

About 10 years ago I was joining two pieces of 2x4 with screws. Was holding it together and using my screw gun, well bit jumps off of screw and digs into said right thumbnail cuticle. Splat is the only word that comes to mind. Lost nail and when it grew back its a little off kilter.

Oh and I have 2 scars on my left thumb from my car accident

Damn I'm tough on my thumbs
