Thanks guys! If you build this, coat the decals with some Mirco Scale Decal Film. They're super brittle and will break apart if you look at them wrong.
You could also scan the decals, and save the file to reprint them… in case the Micro Scale Decal Film option fails. :hmm:

Got the X-29 gloss coated and ready for decals. Please cross your fingers that the decals behave!

Well, so much for that idea. I got a few on but they too broke up some. Oh well. :headbang:

Test the cockpit ones first. If they break up, then you'll have problems with the others.

I'm going to strip this one bare and repaint it to make it a What-If jet. I'll find some other decals for it.

Could you mask it off and paint on the stripes?

I could but it seems way too complicated for me.

Mike,

I"m so sorry that the decals have failed due to age. Have you checked on the 'Bay for options. There was a fella on there whose main business was stocking old decals. If you're interested, I'll try to run down some options. I'm afraid the cost will a bit dear though. I'm sort of thinking like Carlos about using the wavy white Tamiya tape (I don't know if there's another color) and trying to paint sections of trim. It's such a beautiful aircraft in its all white form! You have certainly done it justice here.

Thanks! But I'm not really worried about it right now. I've got other aircraft that I need to complete.
