Tank Transporters

Post by Stuart »

At some point, I've got to build me a Tank Transporter...

I rather like the Scammell pioneer, which Thunder models do in 1/35. In North Afrika guise.

But then the old Dragon Wagon was a beast too - and Tamiya obviously make one.

Obviously I'd want to do one with a tied down tank or something on it - just to be cool!

Cheers!

Those are cool. I like the Scammel, too.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

It's a bit of a beast isn't it - I do actually have the old Airfix 1/76 scale version but I do fancy building one in 1/35. Interesting fact - my Grandfather drove the recovery version back in the 1950's when he was stationed out in China.

I’d love to build the Dragon Wagon… but man they take up room and cost a good bit!

Yeah they certainly are a big beast. Probably not too expensive if you consider how long they would take to build. I'm sure the doller/pound per enjoyable hobby hour ratio is quite good.

That would be cool, but I do like the idea of a massive model.

He’s gonna need a bigger display area for that. LOL! Someday when I retire, I’ll do one.
