I have plenty more in my stash… Revell, Hasegawa, Academy, Italeri, and AMT/ERTL… I still could use a CJ type in my collection. Such a mean looking fighter. :ballbat:

So today has been a good day for progress on this build. Yesterday I was able to apply the cockpit instrument decals

Today I painted Flat Black where needed and then closed up the fuselage

thought about drilling holes then adding knobs where needed on the upper center console, but decided against it to keep with the OOB spirit of this project...

Next up, seam clean up then some scribing to replace lost detail...

That looks good Carlos - those decals are pretty effective.

They look the part. I just had to stop myself from adding various bits into the cockpit to dress up those decals. :hmm: I see quite a bit of possibilities in there for super detailing.

Sometimes a guy has to reign himself in and just build what you have and enjoy the final piece. We can all lose ourselves in trying to up detail these kits. Kinda nice to just whip one out quick and dirty once in a while.

If you can't fix it with duct tape, you're not using enough duct tape.

It's one of those kits that's either a good base for detailing, or looks good OOB. A lot of Tamiya kits of the same vintage are like that.

Today I had a few hours at the bench to work on this one... First I sanded up the fuselage halves join seam then rescribed lost detail in those areas. Afterwards I started glueing parts into place... radome, intake mouth, wings, ventral strakes, stabilators and vertical stabilizer... I also cleaned up the main seams on the drop tanks and added their noses...

next thing I knew, I had something that was starting to look like a F-16... I still have a bit more sanding to do on the parts that I added today, then it will be time to start getting some paint on this bird...
