Revell 1/28 Sopwith F.1 Camel B6313, WG Barker by speedgraflex

Post by speedgraflex »

Dear Spammers: in honor of Mr. Eaton I thought I’d put together highlights of my construction his way, which means sky blue backgrounds and cleanly posed pieces! This will definitely be a highlights only thread but perhaps it will be more credible and easier to digest in this format than my own Wild and Wooly approach. To that end I’ve added the blue backings digitally and will do my best to make what I do match closely to John’s own style. I’m still figuring out the background color. I'm not sure if John wanted to match the light blue of the forum or not. I've color matched to what he posted as a background for his 1/32 Revell Mustang project by Mk. I eyeball.

Man that box art brings back some memories. :hmm: Now, between the previous thread and the box art, I see where this can go. Very nice!

Carlos! Thank you for all your words. I meant what I wrote previously in the game changer thread. Joining this forum has been a transfromative experience for me. The positive effect of having good advice and encouraging words keep me model building more than anything else.

Yes, sometimes the right crowd can be a major boost when and where needed.

Carlos! Thank you so much for the reference photo! That's going to help with the final finish. Where's Pima Air Museum? In your neck of the woods? The Pima were native American Indians, I believe. I'm not sure, though. My high school history memories are next to no help, and I'm trying to avoid using Google and going completely stupid by asking a machine to help me. I also believe I've heard my Dad and Uncle Jack use "P. I. M. A." to mean a pain in the backside!

Are those spark plug ignition wires????

Holy cow, there's a lot of detail to this photo!

Did you take this??

Cheers.

They could be now that you ask Bruce.

Lovely subject by the way, I do like a Sopwith Camel, and I love the touch of using a blue background. I'll do the same if you don't mind.
