OK OK, so I know I need another active project like I need a hole in the head, but a friend of mine on another forum had to drop out of the classic kit GB he was leading and I said I'd cover for him - the only kit I had that fit the 1979 time limit of the GB was this....

It's a nice kit anyway, and I could do with a quick build.

Sprues of all the kits - 1975, 1977 and 1978.

I will fix the incorrect rear door.

Should be...

And progress so far - the first stage undersides.

This will be a simple build and a simple paint scheme - I bought a few tins of TS-4.

Cheers!

Great project choice! I wonder where/how Tamiya got the idea for the angled door edge shape? Most unusual of them. They usually based thier older kits off of museum vehicles… :hmm:

This will be a very very intersting project Stuart.

This project if any, really needs a bag of two of...

There's a theory that, when deisgning the kit, they used a ref photo of a vehicle that had the side doors removed and slung on the back, which apparently you could do with these. They have corrected it on the 1/48th kit.

Thanks Bruce!

Some small progress.

The undersides are together and I've started on the body work.
