I’m trying to move away from 91% isopropyl alcohol and a few of my model train brethren have raved about this product.

Wash Away has been tested on many modern plastic shells like Athearn, Atlas, Rapido and others. It is always recommended to test the product on a small non visible part of your model if you are unsure if the product is safe for your specific model.

Wash Away us not recommended for use on Kato and resin models.

Wash Away is a hobby product designed only for removing paint on model trains and other hobby models. All other uses are prohibited. Wash Away should never be used in an ultrasonic cleaner or other like machines. Wash Away should only be used in a safe container for soaking.

I usually use Purple Power. Works great removing chrome parts. Used to use Easy off to stripping but fumes can br toxic - one reason I do it outdoors.

Thanks, Tom! I’ve never tried Purple Power but I’ve added this to my list. How long does it take to strip a part?
