Synthesized DRUMROLL please!

Evenin' All,

It occurs to me that I completed some work without posting final images.

I'm taking care of that now.

This is a "garage" resin kit about the size of a basketball.

At the time of purchase, this was the best kit out there; it's since been sold and retooled in styrene so it's lost some of its "one of a kind" kit cool factor, but it still a formidable build and hopefully showcases my abilities such as they are with resin and brass, etc.

Designed by Adam Johnson with pattern making by Scott Spicer.

The actual model was "discovered" ten years ago in a garage.

Authenticated by experts as genuine, it was purchased by the Academy Museum for $345,000.00.

It was restored and now is on display at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.

Kari and Chris,

Thank you both very much, I’ve been remiss in posting any completed projects here for reasons I suspect may have affected us all (Covid), but I realized that it’s better late than never.

Yes, Kari, it’s a big resin kit. It’s divided roughly in half but the seam line is higher than the equator where there are passenger cabin windows. One huge mistake I made was not ordering the interior for the passenger cabin. At some point I’m going to try to use the Moebius plastic version interior to see how it fits. The red area is the pilot’s cabin.

I understand about potential AI confusion, Chris. It’s bigger than my largest light box; I had to improvise a black background. Not my first choice here.

Thanks very much, Tom! I’m sorry I haven’t posted the few finished builds I have done here. I always appreciate your support. And I learned some interesting color management skills and theories from your own work.

Thank you, Carlos! I’ve learned a great deal from following your projects and your advice has helped me out of some tight spots more than once. If there’s a reason why a forum should exist, it would be the human participation. Solving the problem based on data sifting isn’t the same as having an actual experienced human being exchange ideas.
