I know it's been asked before, but it's a fun exercise.. even more fun if you can dig up and old thread and see how you answered before!
If you could have one state of the art kit , say by Tamiya (or maker of your choice), what would it be? Actually, pick up to three kits and provide the scale.
Here are mine
1/24 or 1/32 F4U-5N by Tamiya -
1/48 -- Here is maybe a head scratcher for many, but how about a new tool P-51 B & D from Tamiya? Hard to believe their current offering is almost 30 years old and they have come SO FAR since they cut the molds for it...
1/72 A-7E & D By Tamiya -- I just love SLUF's -- Fujimi kit is "OK", but I would love to have one with an EZ and correct intake, and great engineering.. I would buy about 10

Top choice, a 1/35 M4A1 DD tank. Preferably with an option to have with the swim skirt raised or deflated. Small hatch or large hatch will be fine. Tamiya would be my top choice, but Asuka or Takom would also be fine.
A 1/48 F11F Tiger, long nose variant. Airfix, Revell, Eduard, or Tamiya would be fine.
A 1/25 T-54A MBT, with interior. In this case Tamiya, and make it to match off their Centurion Mk.3

More 1/35 farm tractors, of US manufacture. John Deere, Case IH, etc.
I am still waiting for Hobby Boss to release a standalone kit of a standard HET. I want the 1/35 truck that is included with the trailer, but don't have the space for that whole set.
For my third, I dug this wishlist up from an FSM thread late last year: 1/10 scale resin busts of characters from 1883, Rings of Power, House of the Dragons, The Northman, and All Quiet of the Western Front.

Re: Holy Grail -- Part Deux?
I'm a basic modeler, and I'm pretty happy,I mean manufactures have been filling up lots of holes on people's collections over the last decade or so,but I don't understand why we haven't seen a nice German Secret Raider like Atlantis,Kormoran,Orion,or Pinguin, with the hidden guns and collapsible bulkheads would be cool, also where is the new tool state of the art SMS Emden? So let's go, ideally Tamiya, give them the treatment, but even Trumpeter or ROG in 1/350 would be great.
A nice 1/48 Mirage series from Tamiya would also be great.

So at Nationals, Tamiya was asking just that. I want the Hornet/Super Hornet family and an A-10C, both in 1/48.

Re: Holy Grail -- Part Deux?
I'm really surprised that Tamiya has not yet expanded their 1/48 Phantom line beyond their B kit. With a new wing & cockpit they can do the C & D, change the radome by removing the undergoes IR sensor, burner cans, and cockpit again, and they can do the J... with a few more changes the Brit K & M Spey engined Phantoms are possible.Medicman71 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2023 3:43 pm So at Nationals, Tamiya was asking just that.
