I know this kits a bit old-- but I love this thing so far...
First up is the mortar assembly-- I am modeling the breech open...

And the interior weathered up....

And the first coat of paint on the beast-- have some touching up on filling to do and another coat....

Nice work. That had to be one heck of a burb when that fired.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks Lyle! Yeah-- there is a short YouTube video somewhere showing it firing...made quite a earth shattering kaboom!

Got the main scheme on...except for fixing the parts where the tape pulled off like on the front side... :bat

Still need to add the small bits of the ambush scheme, paint the tools and figgie...and then weathering!

Just started the weathering stage...not doing too much since they were barely used. Still need to work on the figgie!

I like the vivid colours of your Sturmtiger, Mike! I am also no fan of tons of dust and dirt on a tank kit. I mostly had a laugh when I saw a modeller use expensive after market tracks, only to hide them later on enormous amounts of mud...

I would get this here some nice dusting over and a dead flat finish later. Looking forward to your work!

Thanks Thomas!

Been too busy lately with observations and getting grades done for the end of the quarter. Friday afternoons are usually my model time but I'm heading out at 4am to help chaperone the business club trip to Boston and won't be back until 3am Sat...and we are hiking Saturday afternoon.... Maybe Sunday I can sneak in some bench time ;)

Very nice work on the big beast,I like your work on the ambush camo scheme. Is that the kits interior or an add on,looks nice.

One thing that's been told to me is,that the inner hatches were painted the same color as the exterior so that they didn't stand out as an aiming point, but it probably can go either way.

At any rate, congrats on a nice build.
