"Fly Me To The Moon" - Space Shuttle Conversion

Post by tigrazor »

Hi all,

Sorry, I couldnt resist. A German SciFi forum starte a brand new GB. Last year, it was a great success and the rules were pretty simple: Take a BSG Viper and paint/rework it however you like, with the exception of a BSG scheme.

Some days ago, a new GB started, and this time its all about Space Shuttles. Yes, you heard right: Space Shuttles! Whatever the brand, whatever the scale - all ideas are welcome (except NASA colors of course.). ;)

The participants (so far):

No. 14 is my number. Ill post the pictures here as well, just because I dont know if all of you can read and understand German. ;) Its a 1/288 scale Academy Shuttle btw.

The idea of "Fly Me To The Moon" is a simple one: nomen est omen.

One Shuttle. Six legs. One nozzle. :D

The backpack for the national flights is perfect to recreate the flys rear part. The underside gets some Apollo cammand capsule parts, the nozzle is a part made from 1/32 scale P-38 tubes and a PE trim wheel...

And now... some music. ;)

Neat. I gather itle be VTOL?
You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Right. Four little nozzles will be added at the underside of the "fly". Maybe some Harrier parts too. Maybe.

Yep, the Shuttle is supposed to be transformed into a fly. ;)
