Re: Zvesda 1/72 Tupolev I-4
I thought it was a Mr Color aluminum! I’ve been using that one for awhile. It’s still my favorite because it cures fast on that plastic and takes handling well. Interesting how you harmonized the engine with the frame; that looks spot on! That looks just right for the project! I’m a bit late to pos...

This technique sounds similar to what my Dad called “sprue processing,” where everything was sorted into separate ziplock bags once the parts were clean and free of flash. Looking forward to see your technique.

Re: Revell H-291 by speedgraflex
haha, you’re right, I wrote the post first then went looking for photos to see what was really happening with mounting braces/brackets so yes that’s actually one that I found which is also in the book I’m using as well. It takes about 30 minutes for PVA glue to set up so I’m sure that it’s fully dr...

Re: Revell H-291 by speedgraflex
Tonight I assembled the kit's version of the guns and gunsight using Mr. Cement hot stuff then used PVA to add those to the gun deck of the upper cowling. Looks to me like the actual guns rested on two tubular metal braces, but I have to check my sources. I'm not able to take a decent photo of the ...

I’ll put it this way—you’re definitely in the mood—a not so subtle reference to the scene in both Dune adaptations!

Re: Revell H-291 by speedgraflex
Thank you, Lyle! You’re too kind but I take in everything that is written here gratefully. Without you, I would not have been able to continue. Thanks to you, I’ve been able to straighten out areas that were becoming too raggedy and work back towards the finish Revell gave the fuselage. Tonight I’l...

Ah, Hataka. I don’t know if we in the states see those as much. I can still buy Testors square bottle at my local art store and I do when I can. I don’t know very much about Hatska as I proved to you earlier.
