Another day, another Legionnaire figure. This one 1960s Algeria in dress parade or guard uniform standing at attention. The kit would have you arm him with a sub machine gun. But I test fitted with a rifle and liked that look better.

I’ve looked. Neat figures. On this one I don’t get the neck tie, but many fighters wore them. These scare the color out of my hair, to try and paint them. I just bought a small bite with minimal rigging...first one in years because of that. I can’t imagine taking on these. You are a brave man.

Lol! Thanks Lyle. Ship rigging is pretty challenging too! A different steady hand is required there. As far as the tie goes on the last figure, he’s in full dress uniform, not combat uniform. So ties are standard in most every army for full dress.
I started painting on the first two figures this evening....

Thanks Bruce... gotta dust off the figure painting skills. It’s been a year or more since my last one.

Re: 1/35 Academy Légion étrangère
Started painting the next two figures over the past couple of days...
and I built another figure this evening. Chad during the 1980’s. The set comes with the wrong rifle for that era, but I scrounged a proper FA MAS rifle from a Testors/Italeri boxing of a Heller figure set...
more to come in the next few days...
