Still working on the little Airfix rag-wing Hurricane mk.I...

Image

It's not a bad kit this, the fit is mainly good although I think the construction is a bit complicated for what it is. The fit of the main wing however was pretty bad, it's level but slightly that the fuselage - something to look out for when I build the other one I have in the stash.

This is going to be an early mk.I with a two blade prop, a la Battle of France era.

Cheers!

I didn’t know that Airfix did an early Mk.I Hurricane. Is that 1/72 or 1/48?

72nd I would bet by the canopy.

1/72 Carlos. It's their early rag wing mk.I kit, with a new sprue added for the two blade prop, different tailwheel etc. I also have the same kit in a later BofB era boxing.

Their 1/48 Hurricane has a metal wing.

These early birds are starting to appeal to me Stuart and good start on this. I've been considering a future 109B build for a while now.

My wife had a big art show that she was a part of this weekend. As per normal, I bring a kit to work on while helping to man her studio. Brought something that all I had to was put together. This is the Bandi "Wing Gundam Zero: Endless Waltz". It's a Master Grade Ver. Ka kit which means a very high parts count. In one day all I got done was the upper chest area. I'll put it in it's own thread shortly.

Thanks for the info Stuart. I know that Airfix backdated one of their 1/48 Spitfires to an early Mk.I with the flatter canopy hood and the two blades wooden prop. I was hoping that perhaps they had done a backdate of their new tool 1/48 Hurricane as well.
