That looks real good Stuart. Wise choice to build it out of the instruction sequence.

Thanks Carlos!
It does seem to way to go for any of you that build this kit - I fitted the front spar, assembled the rest of the gear and gun bay walls to give the rear spar something to position off, and then assembled the cockpit in sequence. It gave me no issues at all, so why on earth Airfix didn't suggest it in the first place is beyond me.
I've given the interior a couple of light coats of Tamiya TS-17 Bright Aluminium spray. Once that's dry I'll paint in the detail etc., gloss and decal it. I have to say I'm really looking forward to using my airbrush when I finally move - seems like it's taking forever.
I've also started brush painting up the other parts of the cockpit, using Humbrol and Hataka acrylics - I'm going to drop the IP decal over the moulded instrument panel as per the instructions. I've done it a few times before and normally looks good.
So far it's been a lot of fun. The cockpit loos complicated but I built it up in a couple of hours, so it's not too bad... I might be tempted to leave the canopy open on this one.
Cheers!

Interior is progressing well Stuart. Shouldn’t the cockpit be green?

That’s a great subject to do and boy oh boy does that kit look interesting! I really like how they did the interior, that’s so cool!
You’re off to a great start, can’t wait to see what you do with her.

The cockpit sides were green but the framework etc. was largely bare metal and silver dope.

Stuart, I’m very impressed with the photos you shared of it. I’ll be looking forward to reading about your experience with building it.

Very nice work so far! Airfix has always been a bit of a mystery company for me. Mostly because their lineup lacks any 1/32 scale aircraft kits.

John they do have some really nice 1/24 scale aircraft kits if you choose to move to a larger scale.

Just making slow progress on the cockpit - getting it painted and decalled up.
Still working on the IP...
Cheers!
