Flettner Fl 282 V14 HUMA 1/48

Post by mostrich »

This is an older build from 2011. It shows the first serial produced helicopter, a Flettner Fl 282. V14 means that its the 14th produced prototype. It was used for calibration flights and completed 116 starts along with 28 operating hours. It had intermeshing, counter rotating rotors, so no tail rotor was needed to equal engine torque.

The kit showed great moulding quality with very fine and detailed parts. Its the only quarterscale kit of that company that quit business in 2002. I added PE seatbelts, some brass rods to stiffen the under-carriage and self made decals. Cut out the rudder, too. Paintwork is Vallejo - RLM 65 / 71.

My oh my...beautifully done.

for sale, one hobby room!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Very nice work Mostrich!

I have myself this same HUMA kit in the stash. Very nice to see how good looking this small Flettner is. Paintwork is great!

Thank you very much, lady and gentleman!

Honestly these are complimentary photographs taken from a distance with a high focal length to hide some flaws.
Obviously I succeed. 8-)
