Someone's got to counter all these Shermans and Tigers!

And a cracking Tank it is - one of my favourites. I've built one already and have an 'Easy Eight' on the bench (somewhere) that I'm currently changing the periscopes on. I'd also really like to have a go at a British Firefly.Stikpusher wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 6:46 pm Hey now, the Sherman served under nearly all the Allied colors.![]()
I’m with you on British Tanks Stuart. I’m tired of Panzers…Stuart wrote: ↑Sat May 24, 2025 12:52 amAnd a cracking Tank it is - one of my favourites. No all I mean is you don't seem to see a lot of British Tanks, asides from the odd Cromwell or similar being built on most forums. I can understand it in some ways, as most British tanks weren't very successful or sexy, but most of them certainly look interesting.
Maybe it's flying the flag, but WWII and Cold War Bristish AFV's are definitely my preferred subject, VERY Closely followed by the US. I can't think of a single US AFV from the same era's I don't like and won't build at some point. I was really annoyed last month as I was outbid for an original Tamiya M60 and M1 Abrams with the 105mm - both still very much on my want list.
I do like the Crusader - that's on my 'want' list as well! I do however have a Matilda. I'm looking forward to building that as apparently its a nice kit.Stikpusher wrote: ↑Sat May 24, 2025 9:50 am
I’m with you on British Tanks Stuart. I’m tired of Panzers…But I do think that the Crusader was a very good looking tank. Particularly the early variants that had the sub turrets on the hull with a machine gun. Too bad that it had such automotive/mechanical problems that needed to be resolved. And you can never go wrong with a Matilda, the “Queen of the Desert”.
At least now, companies like Takom and Gecko are slowly filling the lack of British WWII, Cold War, and current vehicles in 1/35. Keep your eyes open for those to fill your collection theme. And even Airfix is getting into the game lately.
