Gone to the dark side

Post by BlackSheep214 »

Having just finished watching Patton 360 on YouTube, seeing different tanks used makes me want to start a stash of WW2 armor kits.

US tanks:

M36 Tank Destroyer

M18(?) Hellcat

M7 Priest

German:

Tiger I (mid - late)

Stug III Ausf.G

Stuart

jagdpanther IV Tank Destroyer

Jagdtiger

Artillery pieces:

German 88

German Pak 40

Don't forget the M4 Sherman, and M10 Tank Destroyer... and the M3 & M5 Light tanks

Crawly things are more fun to build. They go together quicker than aircraft and so much can be hidden with mud and stuff. And when you lose some parts, relax, you can most likely recreate them by scratch building the part.

And one more thing; fewer decals and no canopies to mask.

All good points. I just looked and I have 20 armow/vehicle kits. This morning I came within a hair's width of trashing a Tamiya kit. Yes, Tamiya. It is the 1/48 Mosquito. Tom's work inspired me to get mine out. I don't know what is going on with my ability to build anything to completion, but something is.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Looking for Sherman Calliope kit in 1/35 scale. I remember Monogram had one out back in the 70s, 80s. Airfix only has it in 1/72 scale. :bored:
