I do like these missile launcher kits. I've done a couple and they are relatively quick and fun and are pretty interesting subjects. Seems like there's a lot of old old kits of these type. How was the build on this one?
Thanks,
John

This kit built up pretty quick and simple. Maybe about 6 hours for the trailer/launcher, and another 2-3 hours for the missiles. I probably could have built it up a little more rapidly at home, but transporting it twice for a couple club meetings put certain constraints on those build sessions.

Yes a very interesting subject. These things entered service shortly before the Cuban Missile Crisis, and even today are seeing combat in Ukraine.

Thanks John!

I first remember seeing that insignia watching Midway back in 1976... and immediately became a fan of the squadron... more badass than the Blacksheep since they were there in the beginning flying "disadvantaged" types. They were instrumental in stopping the Japanese tide and turn it at Corl Sea, Midway, and Guadalcanal.

More work on my Hawk launcher today… got the camo colors finished…

I forgot how long it takes to hand brush a hard edge camo pattern… even on a comparatively small item, like this one.

Haven’t been on the bench as of late these last couple days. Struggling with camo on the B-57 Intruder and lack of ambition to resume on the bench. I did figure out how to fully clean my Neo Iwata CN dual action airbrush via YouTube last night. Went back and start over with the cleaning.

I knew I was having issues with a stuck needle and come to find out I didn’t clean in certain spots. Lacquer thinner certainly did help clean up those dried up spots I overlooked. :headbang:

Oh well… live and learn :bag:

In between other paint sessions, I’ve been working on painting up this Miniart figure, learning to work better with acrylics for figure painting

I chose him because my Befehlspanzer I needed a proper DAK TC figure, as the kit only came with a figure in the continental early war uniform, not the tropical uniform.

So he want from this over the span of three sessions

And as my old build looks now…

You need to come in to an AZ AMPS meeting sometime John  Toon Tanks are a symptom. :giggles:
