Re: Monogram Me-262 "Red 17"
Are you stacking multiple images? I find that for small objects that I must shoot two plates. Otherwise I try very high f-stop and timed exposures…
Make more models!

No, I don't do that, Bruce. I'm not a photographer by any means, really; I just take pictures and cross my fingers!
Richard encouraged me to set the camera further from the subject, then I can zoom in to get the image the desired size while keeping the background in focus as well, more like our natural vision does. Does that make sense from a photography POV? I may have messed up the explanation.
I'm almost certain the camera was set on auto for the last two pics posted.

Looking good, Gary. You need to build more!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

A longer distance to the subject would really help! Sounds like your friend is a great advisor. Also the quantity of natural sunlight gives you enough light to increase depth of field.Gary Brantley wrote: ↑Sun Dec 21, 2025 7:43 amNo, I don't do that, Bruce. I like that 262 to but I like that yellow Tigercat even more. That is also a very cool build.

Re: Monogram Me-262 "Red 17"
He's been a great help with my photography! He helped with the outdoor, location pics for my M41 Bulldog tank and it was amazing watching him work. Bruce, did you get a chance to visit the links about his work that I posted? He built this custom motorcycle many years ago now, doing all the work himself:

Yeah, that yellow Big Bird was one of my best models (he says modestly!
)

Thanks so much, Remco!
