Were the intake plugs something that you designed, or did you find them as a file online?

LOL, Well I guess.. Of all the things I have designed (not many) , that is one of the simplest. It was made event easier with AI. I said 'chatgpt, what draft do I need to set if I have a block x long that needs to be 12mm wide and one end and 11mm wide at the other end?'
This was something more complex I was working on. a 1/48 Mk 13 Torpedo for my monogram TBD. Pretty pointless now that I have given up on my resin printing dreams (at least for now). But it was a good learning experience.
Now the biggest challenge I have had in CAD is designing a propeller blade. Putting twist in a prop blade hurt my brain

This whole thing is blowing my mind. Creating your own designs and then printing them. It’s quite a game changer for this hobby.

Yes! What he said!

Still trying to clean up 'molded into the fuselage' portions of the engines. A light mist of Tamiya LP flat aluminum reveals some areas that still need attention...

So looking forward to seeing more of your steady progress on this 'Cat, Chris.
It's exciting for me to see a quarter scale Monogram Tomcat underway, heaven knows I've "played" with mine a hundred times...still scares me to think of tackling it!

Looking great Chris! Your build on this is inspiring! The only 1/48 Tomcat that I’ve built was the old Testors/Fujimi kit 30+ years ago… and I just finally put the glove pylons with their missiles the other day for something to do while paint was drying on the Messa Schnitzel and I was 3d printing… small stuff to fill time in the middle… I’m due to build one of the multiple Tomcats in my stash sometime soon…

My first Tomcat was the vintage 1/72 scale Monogram kit.

Years latr in my late teens/early 20s, I built the 1/72 scale Hasegawa Tomcat.
