Been there, done that, felt better for it.

I'm not a big fan of Eduard kits either, which is why I generally steer clear - mind you, I've only built two - Their Spitfire XVIe and P-39. The Spitfire was overly engineered and certainly not the uber it it's made out to be. The P-39 isn't actually too bad a kit, I'd certainly build another. The only real issue I've had was the cockpit doors.

But generally I find them far too fiddly.

I had discovered I also have the Eduard L-39C Albatross kit in my stash from long ago aquisition. My plan was to build as the Black Diamonds JetTeam.

Yeah that sucks. But don't throw in the towel on Eduard kits. Not all of them are bad.

The only other Eduard kit that never gave me issues was the Yak 1b. That one came together like dream. That was the very first Eduard kit I did.

Sigh…. misery loves company.

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/eduard- ... 6--1280029

Supposedly this one is less complicated and easier to assemble. :bored: I’ve read the reviews and all were positive, Opened the instruction guide and carefully looked over each assembly steps.

What I’ve discovered:

Fuselage halves is from nose to tail. No complete engine to deal with. Definitely no engine braces to deal with.Just the front face of engine disc to install on fuselage. Only 2 parts for top cowling covers.

No wing hatches to cut out to display in closed position. See my top view of gaps on wing spars next to fuselage.

No complicated seat belts assembly . PE sheet looks a bit better. Yes, tiny knobs are still there. Won’t use them. :nono:

Wing flaps seems to be simpler to do compared to mine where I had to fight it it to fit.

Cockpit installation to fuselage seems a bit easier than the one I dealt with.

Wheel wells assembly looks similar, straightforward without getting complicated but less overengineered. My metal gun barrels can be used on this bird. Especially the top cowling MG barrels.

Decal sheet looks the same as what I already have. That’s okay… they’ll be spares for me should I mess up. Doesn’t have the cat decals though for the checkered nose version.

Looked in every online store - Scalehobbyist, Squadron, SprueBrothers, Hobbylinc… none of them has it in stock. From what I’m seeing, they’re no releases of this kit in the states yet. Only two online store overseas.

It does look promising but I know I’ll cave in, buy it and have another go at it. Like I said…. Misery love’s Company :headslap:  :giggles:
