Thanks for those Bruce - well I'm not too far off, I just need to drybrush some of the base colours back over the dark wash I've just added and I'll post up a picture.
Thanks for all your help guys.

Good friend of mine and colleague's grandfather was the copilot on plane 15 of the Doolittle raid. Griffith Williams. Technically pacificI guess

Okay so here's my attempt - the photo is a bit dark so it's actually a bit lighter in the flesh so to speak.

The pics are so entertaining. History, humanity. I’m waxing tired this AM. The attitude, in a good way, confidence, commitment, comrades. Knowing so many did not return. The pictures always get to me a bit.
Oh, the pilot dude looks pretty darn good.

To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Yes, the pilot does look good…. Very good I would say.
I wonder about some of those group photos myself Lyle. Who in the photos survived the war. Aviators did have a very high attrition rate. Long ago my mom worked with a guy who was a ground crewman for the AAF in WWII. I remember him saying that they didn’t make friends with the pilots as they came and went so rapidly. They didn’t want to form any attachment to them.

Thanks Gents - glad you like it! Thanks for all your help. I might have to bookmark this thread as I'm sure I'll have some more PTO builds in the future.
