I love the “First On Race Day” decal on the trunk. :giggles: :giggles: :giggles: Adding the stars to the fenders and top of hood is a nice touch too. :lashed:

Not too fond of the red stars on the blower though.
LOL on the First on Race Day decal.

White is indeed a good color for this car and scheme. Whoever he is, he could stand to use some BMF on the side panel chrome as the painting skills are a bit shaky. lol

Who knows though.....the builder could be a young tike.

Got car #2's body primed and then shot the color coat on using MCW Cranberry Red. This color is really going to come alive when I shoot the gloss clear over it.

Car #2’s color is gorgeous, Joe. That’s a beautifully judged application of paint; all the details are still there in very good, crisp condition! Love the color! Bravo!

Thanks Bruce. It'll look a LOT better with a gloss coat over it. I painted my 70-1/2 Z-28 Camaro I built a couple of years back in this color.

Oh yes, that is superb work, Joe! I was trying to identify the auto part the gasser is sitting on. What is that? A truck part?

Joe, What’s the pipe part you’re using to hold up the Gasser?

Sorry about the delayed response Bruce. Just a plastic section of plumbing pipe from Lowes or Home Depot. Criss cross some tape the top of it and put the car body on top and now you can spin your subject being painted around while you're building up color / gloss coats.

Thanks, Joe. That’s a great idea to use as a support for painting!

Donn Yost turned me onto that idea around 6-7 years ago. Too bad he's gone now. Guy was a brilliant auto scale modeler and I learned a great deal from him.

Got my car body mocked up on the chassis with the aluminum wheels and I'm really diggin' this color. In building the two cars, I just couldn't paint 'em both the same color. To me this darker color fits the theme of the car better.

Here she is all mocked up with the aluminum wheels from Dancing Bear all the way around.
