A Tomcat flying CAP...

Post by Gary Brantley »

Here are a few photos of the only 1/72 scale model in my study. It's that old Monogram F-14A and it was a gift to our son when he was about 6 years old. He and I built it, not much painting and done quite hurriedly, it was a fun afternoon project. Carson never really got into models and I ended up with it in my study after we moved here in August of 1990. Shortly thereafter, I hung it from a swivel in the ceiling of the study, suspended by copper wire. And there it has remained, silently flying combat air patrol over its 1/48 scale "cousins" in the display cabinets.

Memories of a bygone era… :hmm:

Looks good,I always wanted to do that but I could never get the right look and they quickly got caked with dust.

Thanks, Tony! 👍 It's true they're dust magnets up there.
