Airfix 1/72 Gloster Meteor mk.III (The old one)

Post by Stuart »

So I started building this for a quick build, as part of a GB on another forum - the old 1974 boxing of Gloster's Meatbox.

Looks like a really nice kit in the box - on test fitting everything fits nicely. The only issue was the decals, although I have found a set on ebay from a more recent boxing of the same kit.

So far I've been doing some gizmology in the cockpit. Nothing accurate, but just something to see through the clear parts - it'll all be black anyway. I've also moved the IP rearwards, and I'll maybe scratch up a gunsight.

Cheers!

This should be good

Interesting build Stuart!

Were the fuselage halves and wings "freelyt" in the box, without sprues ?

Thanks Bruce, there's a few more bits I'll add before some paint.

Thanks Carlos - it should be a quick little build.

Thanks Kari.

Yep - proper old skool 1970's Airfix. The small parts are on some sprue 'runners' but there were quite a few loose parts in the box.
