Hi All,
To go with my Me410 I thought I'd have a go at another Matchbox Messerschmitt - the Bf110. I'm not 100% sure what mark this is - I think a C or a D but we'll see how it goes. It looks like an older moulding to the 410, with raised panels, but hopefully will go together well.
Cheers!

Cool... I love how you do these old kits. Enjoying them as they were meant to be enjoyed.
Looking at the painting instructions on the back, this is indeed a C & D offering.

Thanks Carlos! I do enjoy them. Yes they're basic but still very buildable - certainly better then ''collecting'' them and keeping them in their boxes.Stikpusher wrote:Cool... I love how you do these old kits. Enjoying them as they were meant to be enjoyed.
Yes I saw that after I posted - I'm nothing if not observant! I'm rather torn on schemes at the moment. The decals appear usable but I'm not overly keen on either of the schemes.Stikpusher wrote:Looking at the painting instructions on the back, this is indeed a C & D offering.
Do you think the D would have carried the bomb rack and the wing tanks?

sort off looks like a 110...
It's coming together, I've not done any filling or sanding yet but it's always nice to get the main bits together. I'm surprised by how much bigger it is than a 109. It might ever be bigger than the 410!

These were real slugs in the air till the nightfighter version came along but I this aircraft has always been a great interest of mine. Really good looking bird. Will be watching this one!

Yeah it's an interesting one, the escort fighter that need it's own fighter escorts..? I think thye did alright early on in the war and in Spain, totally outclassed over France and Britain though. I think even the Defiants gave them a pasting. Very good fighter bomber, night fighter and everything else though.
Thanks Joe!

Coming along nicely so far! Everything is bigger than a 109, crazy how small the aircraft is. Even the early (pre Dora) FW 190 is not as big as you think.
Long ago there was a museum in my area that had a wide variety of fighter from WWI and WWII. When you would go to the end of the hangar where the 109E was and looked down the row of the other fighters as the size got bigger, you realized the 109 was small.
