Airfix 1/48 Frontline Fighters gift set...
Re: Airfix 1/48 Frontline Fighters gift set...
Who? Me?
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

That's nice Stik, probably a bit beyond my weathering skills though. How would you go about replicating that?
I've picked up this gift set again last night and was looking at the rear cockpit of the Tornado F.3. The moulding is the same as the IDS kit. I've got to turn this...
Into something more like this..
It shouldn't be too hard with some plasticard and some spare decals I have - I hope...
I'm planning on progressing the cockpits of the Jaguar and the F.3 as I build the one for the Mirage.

The weathering I’d do with either washes and pastels, or pencils and pastels. On a light colored matte finish, it would not be hard at all, and quite easy to actually overdo.
As far as converting the back seat IP, that looks to be a simple conversion. The ADF panel looks quite easy to replicate. The two large screens would be easy to pull off with some styrene girders.

Yeah I'll have to have a play with some of the pastels that I have at home.
It shouldn't be too hard - I'll have to cut off the top deck of whats there and remodel it.

Looking forward to the weathering stages. Base paint coat looks fabulous.
