I do believe somewhere along the line someone messed with the 11 herbs and spices. Short cut here...short cut there. The Colonel would roll over in his grave! When I make the trek to Atlanta to see my Mom down I-75 I always stop in Corbin Kentucky to devour fowl at the Sanders Café and Museum. It's very good there but everything tastes better when your on vacation.

Highly recommended

supposedly, the KFC people have toyed with the breading mix many times. An old franchisee found some of the original mix when cleaning a store room at his place, cooked it up and was amazed at how much better it was. I think he even sued the corporation. The moral of that story was when changing up a tradition or classic or the corporate brand, always start with the original, not what the last one was. At least that was the moral of the story from the class I took.

Said it earlier, but that Corsair is simply perfectly done. The story, the base, figures all superb.

Loistavaa Joe ! (a quick course in Finnish, Loistavaa = Excellent)

Besides the state-of-the-art Corsair, I am totally speechless regarding the figures, how well painted they are!

I would be very curious to know what is your technics? What is the secret?

I have avoided to use/paint figures, as I think I cannot make them look "real", especially in 1:48.

But these fellows, they are perfect!

Double-dog ditto on that, Kari. I won't try figures. Maybe someday.

Thanks guys. My figures are nothing special. I hand painted the clothing with Tamiya acrylics. The flesh color is Model Master "Skin Shadow Tint" enamel. The enamel gives the face a slight sheen which does simulate skin. I drybrushed all the high points with a lighter shade of that particular color, particularly where light would hit it. After it was all sealed with Testors Gloss, I used a brown Detailer wash the hit it all with Testor's dull. Nothing too fancy.

Beautiful build! I love the scene! I last read Pappy's book over 30 years ago, but still recall the part about his final mission rather well.
"Surely I have made my meaning plain? I intend to avenge myself upon you, Admiral. I have deprived your ship of power, and when I swing 'round, I intend to deprive you of your life."
