HELL YEAH! One of the sexiest planes of GDR is coming alive (in the Finnish version :D ). Cant get enough of a good old MiG 21.

Has gone some "days" since my previous update... however, pretty much has been ongoing on the project side...

Some stuff still to be finalised, but this is more or a less three moments of the build that has been carried out since Christmas..

First some primer, coincidence it happened to have more or a less same color as the basic Finnish air force "green" (FS14062).

After camo, decals attached. I skipped most of the stencils. as compared with the real ones, in my opinion the stencils are way too big..

Just a close-up of the front wheel.

I had first planned to use AM parts for the wheels, but eventually did not and therefore this project is entirely an OOB.
Will save the stuff for a new Mig-21 project in near future I hope.

Still some details to be added / adjusted, but with this speed I should be ready by February..

Great camo job Kari. I agree, Eduard's stencils are crap, especially in their Weekend kits. Begmont is a great AM decal company if you are ever interested. They have specific stencil sheets for Mig 21s.

LOVE those Finnish MiGs! Shaping up very nicely.
