Very cool Stik! I have a resin printer but because of the fumes, I haven't set it up. I have enough problems with fumes from painting.

Thanks Mike. You certainly want to set it up when you have lots of ventilation. The fumes are quite strong.

This evening I had another go at 3D printing after my crash and burn attempts after New Years… today’s success was much more successful. The first go (on the right) was about a 50% success rate, with some breaking free during the printing process, as can be seen by the support nubs only…. a few that stayed on the base were somewhat incomplete on the bottoms of the cans for unknown reasons. The second go, started immediately after I took the first group off of the printing plate, came out much better, with all twelve ammo cans printing, although a few were also again underdeveloped on the bottoms of sides…

I’m gonna have to mess with the jerry cans that crashed and burned on the first attempt and see if I can get those to print up properly…

At first glance I though you were printing ammo boxes and some sort of warheads :giggles:
Seems like you're making progress.
Thanks,

Very cool Carlos - you did a good job on those. I have to say it does look a learning curve.

Hey that looks pretty good Carlos.
This makes me think though... the next best thing to having your own 3d printed, is having a buddy who has a 3D printer... :hmm:

Yes, there is progress... and come to think of it, those support bases would make good projectiles in an ammo rack... or some sort of bomb fuses... :hmm:

Thanks Stuart! Yes indeed there is a learning curve. I need my son to walk me through the set up of moving the dowloaded files in to the software program for my printer. Repetition is the key for me... :headslap: And then I need to figure out how to increase the print exposure time. I see the area to do that, but can't figure out how to actually do so.

Thanks Chris. And yes, knowing someone with a 3D printer can be a good thing... :lashed:

Not that I know a damn thing about 3D printing, but maybe tilt the boxes on the supports? I've seen a lot where they do that and the parts come out better.
