Hey—I did some repair work painting today. Let’s see how well I did later after the repairs cure.

Bruce, a public belated happy birthday to you. I know the feeling of wanting to keep certain aspects of your life quiet and partaking in them in your own private manner. But private or on blast, we’re all here for you my friend.

Port and starboard views of the fuselage.

Starboard is my repainted side. It’s close. Texture is always interesting at scale. An additional coat of paint is always a bit of a gamble.

Wouh Wouh Wouh Bruce!

What a mighty good-looking profile the Camel has! Very nice paintwork, I really like the two different brownish nuances.

Looks very good!

Chipping away at this project, slowly and steadily. I realized last night that the stock Revell joystick is too short. I didn’t want to build a new one, do I drilled out the plastic at the base to accept a brass tube, cemented the tube then made adjustments to the hole in the cockpit floor to the mounting point for the base of the stick. I used putty. I had enough left over to divide the putty into two lumps to form the shoulders of the pilot. I’ll sculpt his right arm and hand next from putty and get the proportions right as well, to have his right hand on the joystick handle (kept as a round ring which is how Revell designed it). Photos to come.

I do hope everyone is well. Write if the mood strikes—
