Always love the look you get with the salt fading.

Thanks guys! The wheels have been glued into place. Again using JB Kwik Weld to allow me time to set the wheels so that the flat spots are flush with the ground.

I'm still playing around with the finish. The combination of the flat coat and salt fading have reduced the panel line wash effect in certain places so I am reinforcing that.

John,

The finish looks wonderful. Congratulations. I was thinking about your work being sent away as commissions, which is a version of “catch and release,” or “create and release,” would be a better way of stating what it is you do. I think to tap the same vein Duke tapped, my question for you would be, “Which completed builds have you kept?” Also, as far as I recall, you have an absolutely stunning member’s gallery here on SPAM, which encapsulated projects starting from your second phase of building models (childhood-adulthood). Of particular note were your egg planes, which like Thomas Mayer’s egg planes, really showcase your joy of building models, and ability to create the kinds of subtle textural effects which define every project you choose.

Thanks Bruce! 100% of my 1/32 builds have been commissions. But I do have an assortment of smaller scale models that I've previously built that are populating a few bookshelves and cabinet spaces.

We are in the homestretch of this build and I'm starting to add the last external bits and pieces. Here is a view of the bottom with the wheels attached. The treaded tire is from Barracuda Studios while the smooth one is from the kit.

The canopy masks have been removed.

The wooden flaps have been "temporarily" attached with small blobs of CA glue. To ease transport, the flaps can be easily removed.

The starboard wing with the wing tip light and pitot tube.

The boarding ladder and the small antenna pieces on the bottom have been added.

She's just about done so the next step will be photograph the bottom with the big camera, attach the aerial and take the final photos!

It's a bit strange to look at the model now and to NOT notice anything particular about the front fuselage since I did a lot of work there. So just as a visual reminder, here is a chronological look at the fuselage mods focusing on the starboard side...

Subtle yet noticeable difference when shown in this manner. But the end result makes it look like there was no effort at all, as if it was that way from the beginning. :shoutout:

I've finally completed the last bits and pieces on Yellow 10. She is officially finished. A full array of finished photos can be found in the Completed Builds section:
