Thank you both! In the game of inches, the caterpillar is king (if you know the quote I’m bastardizing). Slow going but necessary. Let’s see how things look with paint upon them. Thanks for following along.

The version by Carlos is much more accurate - thinner pipe and not sticking out as far. I’m not sure I can grind down the size of what I’m working from easily. This is 60 year old plastic that has completely degassed and is quite brittle. It was a fight to remove it and get Humpty Dumpty back together again. I think Carlos made the better decision!

Sopwith Camels serving in the Italian theater had a field service mod carried out to fit 'funnels' to the carburetor air intake tubes, to increase airflow to the engine as they operated at higher altitudes than on the Western Front.
Barker's B6313 had both fitted.

Gents, I'm going to prime this tomorrow to see what needs to be done next. I tried something I haven't done with feathering onto the adjacent panel. I'm not sure if I made a smooth enough transition.

Carlos! It’s been years since I’ve seen Holy Grail. Does that mean it’s another perilous leap? I’m still not sure if I’ve polished the putty enough to work, and I’m at 2500 grit which feels like I’m rubbing a brass lamp with a piece of paper and alas! No Genie! Let’s see, let’s see. I’ve got to get over this modification first before I can go back into a cockpit no one will ever see. What fun!

You got this Bruce! If you feel that the area is not glassy enough, try going to 6000 grit or even 8000 grit. Those two really make things shine! Looking forward to seeing the next progress!
