I like it, especially the color correction. You sure have a way with airbrushing on such smooth coats! Way to go Bruce!

BTW, this Thread had me highly motivated to finish off three of my WWI planes I'd been working on for far too long. Thank you for that!

You have always motivated me, Mark—so I am pleased as punch that I was in some small way able to motivate you to complete those three planes. I honestly don't think you need any motivation to complete anything! You're the most self-motivated human being I know! You're amazingly productive. Since I already wrote a little piece on your completed projects thread I won't try to repeat anything here. I truly thank you. You've always been such a source of inspiration and a true friend on the forum. I'm grateful to you for your encouragement. That's always meant so much to me. The reality is I'm working holiday shifts and my day was ending about 7:30pm when I read your comments. I was feeling wiped out and quite a bit low until then. However, your words lifted me up. Truly.

I thank you—

PS: The new PC10 colors are RAF Brown or Earth (I forget the name!) by Tamiya (XF 10?) and an OD by MR HOBBY (Mr. Color 12). I am waiting for supplies from Sprue Bros and Robots 4 Less delayed by the Christmas holiday, so I'm using whatever is at hand. Fortunately, I had some colors from a Spitfire project I never finished. I think it was a Spitfire project, but I am really not sure.

Goofs and Gaffes

In order to perform that correction I needed to abrade the surface of the fuselage to give some additional tooth. Also I did a couple of rookie mistakes when I removed the Tamiya tape. Part of the paint had pooled near the edges and was still tacky—yes, I fingerprinted it! I submerged the part in warm water and tried to pull out the print with an ultra fine piece of sandpaper. This worked well enough.

The danger with any kit is loss of detail during the construction phase. Revell’s sculptors added some details that I’m trying hard not to lose—these include the stitching of the fabric piece (I don’t think it was leather) around the half circle of the cockpit and the folded over section of canvas on the fuselage.

MINI-MEN by ULRICH MODELS

Ordered from eBay. These were slot car fodder in the Sixties when slot cars were everywhere. I'm stoked. Even if these men are not quite the right scale. Figures ran different sizes based on human anatomy so I am hopeful very hopeful—

What you get: two figures, posable, made from styrene, some car accessories (steering wheels, roll bars, helmets) too. I recall my Dad said these were 1/24 or 1/25 scale but should might could be close enough for a Pilot figure. I’d like a Pilot figure. The first version of this kit included a Pilot figure. If I cannot use these for this project I have some slot cars that might could use drivers!

You’re very kind, Mark. It’s been a few years and I forgot how Tamiya a/c colors behave a bit differently from the ones by Gundam (I know - different types of paint). I’m looking forward to adding the unit stripes or at least measuring and temping in the first color coat. I’m sort of torn between using off white or white Mr Surfacer as a base coat. I don’t think I have any black though which means I’m either off to the wings or the engine. I’m also hoping that the figure kits I ordered will come quickly but somehow I doubt it. Mail delay is apparently quite common due to the holidays. I’m still waiting for Robots 4 Less to ship to me! It’s been several weeks. Usually they ship in a day and I receive it in two.

Mark, How do you get your supplies?
