Airfix 1/72 Spitfire mk.Vb (OLD TOOL)

Post by Stuart »

Hi all!

So I said I’d post up my currant WIP...

...this is the OLD TOOL Airfix 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire mk.Vb. dating back from the 1970/80s I think. It was in the white boxing. It’s not a bad little kit which went together well enough with only a little bit of filler ( I use the water based Perfect plastic putty) – The shapes not too bad although the canopy is a little bit off. I didn’t add any interior although I did have a fair stab at painting the pilot.

Painting is in Humbrol Acrylics – and the markings will be to represent a AIR/SEA Rescue aircraft used during D-Day (from the Xtradecal D-Day anniversary sheet.

I need to take some more pictures, as I’ve finished the painting and am onto the decals.

Thanks for looking

Stuart

Love that signature! :drum:

Kit work looks good to me.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks Kari!

Although I have a proper Digicam - but as my access to a PC is limited, I take most of my WIP shots with my phone as it's easier to just upload them with the photobucket app. However the phone I have at present is blooming awful - no flash and a fixed field of focus! - real Box Borwnie situation. I try to make the best of it

Cheers

Thought that kits of this era aren´t allowed to be build. Protection of species, or sort of... :Squirrel:

Pictures? Great!
Build? Same!

Mission accomplished! Thanks for showing this here, Stuart!

Progress so far - painting finished - Humbrol clear on and decals started.

Those xtradecals perform pretty well with just water and decalfix

Cheers
