A wrong relax build- Gotha Roden 1/72

Post by BsYamato »

In these days of intense gigant painting sessions (ok lots of other kits started but..) i'm going to search somethis easy to build almost OOB, just glue and paint :writing: it's clear that this is the wrong box for my intention but this kit was more than a time near to start, i really like the subject :)
The main goal is to achieve experience with structural rigging and use them to build the other giant montruosity in my stash! The zeppelin Staaken, from roden too :DH:

Box n sprues

Lots of unused parts was removed from sprues

Then pictures and work of about three night sessions:

Fuselage cleared from exctractors , glued some bulkhead in place and clear windows

Image

Engines, both exhaust had a bad filling in the mould during the printing so i scratchbuild the two missing pipes with plastic rod

Image

and partially glued , about two or three more pieces to complete engines assembly, nothing comparable to the staaken 4x high detailed engines

Image

Various pieces glued and cleaned from flashes

Image

and glued ona a sprue with CA glue to easier paint

Image

Primed all necessary pieces for fuselage assembly

Image

Engines nacelles with light grey

Image

Inner fuselage paintd with fake linen (yellow and white mixed  ) and attempt in the forwad sections to reproduce wood grain .Also two layers of glossy coat to protect paint

Image

Image

Other fuselage pieces patially finished

Image

That's all for now, more works tonight i think :)

At the next!

Degrees? Try humidity. LOL! Humidity can wreck havoc while painting a kit. When I was down in Southern Maryland, humidity was like at least 67% or higher. Dead, stale hot air - no breeze. It gets worse after a rainstorm or even a brief downpour too.

BSY, I do not know how anyone can consider such an intricate build as "relaxing".... :Beaver: More power to you if it truly is!
