Assassination! - Jaguar Models, 1/8

Post by tigrazor »

H'llo all,

after modeling and painting more or less smaller scales and "big" scale busts only, I really wanted to lay my hands on a large scale full figure some time. At the last expo near Dresden I landed a lucky shot and got me a rare 1/8 "Ninja" figure from Jaguar Models. It is 1/8 scale and really a great model. That girl looks maybe a bit too much "comic style" with her wasp taille and XXL jugs (am I allowed to say that?! ), but I dont care.

Her joints are enforced with brass tube - just to make sure her arme wont fall off once shes got some paint.

I think Ill paint her like AION-characters, quite similar to the "Iron Man" scheme (red with golden ornaments etc.).

Well, Alrighty, then! Her points look ok to me....
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Welcome to the WIP Lyle. :)

Rooibos tea for the red leaves on the ground, and a spare 28mm gargoyle "on the rocks" were added. The skin parts are not yet finished, theres some more work to do here.

New skin tone for the lady (Belton rattle can). I tried to prime the jewel with Revell silver 90 and it turned out exactly what I was afraid of. I used to use Revell metallic tones in my teenage years quite often (because nothing else was alvailable besides Humbrol maybe) and it produced thin fibres in some cases - the very same here. Well... Gunze will be the better choice for the larger metallic parts then. But the positive thing is: The transparent red (Gunze) looks as good as it was supposed to!

YAY!

Red for the armory, green (glowing effect) and silver for the weapons. The lower blade needs some rework, but so far Im pretty happy with the result.

Metallic blue for her legs. The "Captain America look" will disappear once the transparent red is on, but it gives a bit more of depth to her legs.

Stunning work so far.
I feel i should do a figure sometime. What would you say is the hardest part?
You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
