1/32 Tamiya F4U-1 Corsair

Post by Dave j »

So its been a couple of months since I have really posted anything, its been busy times lately... New addition to the family, being out action for a couple of weeks after putting my back out at work... And I have been really struggling with anything modelling related, let alone building anything! But a big thanks to my mate Jim Hatch...He's been a big help behind the scenes pushing me to get this done!

I used Barracuda Engine set, Wheels and the Cockpit Placards and Eduard Harness set. Painted with Tamiya and Vallejo for the Cockpit and Mr Color Lacquers for everything else. Markings are sprayed on too. Weathered using AK, Ammo washes pigments and a couple of colour pencils.

Scheme is of Lt. Ken Walsh VMF-124, Munda, August 1983.

By the sounds of it, this year for you, is what last year was for me. Little building, lots of recovering. Mine was heart surgery, so at least it allowed me to little bits at the bench pain free.

I love the look of this, especially the weathering! And especially, especially the streaks in front of the windshield!

Glad to see your talent didn't suffer, here's to a better year! :D

Dave, that is a remarkable piece of work. Beautifully weathered, Well done. Good to hear you are back on your feet!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

That is some exceptional work. So, in which magazine is this one going to feature?

Didn't know about the health issues, but I am happy to hear you are doing better!

An addition to the family? ;)

Well done Corsair, btw. Thanks for sharing!
