Okay, I shelved the B-10, the “Killer Bee” and the Travel Air Mystery Ship. Went to the P-38 to have something that fits to do for a bit.
It is indeed an awesome kit. It has protected me from me a couple of times already. It is almost too easy.
BUT.....
Why aren’t the masks pre-cut? At least mine do not seem to be. To me, that is the whole purpose of using Paint masks forthe clear parts. Tried to scan and use the Sihlouette cutter but could not get ant solid traces. Sigh...

You’re going from one extreme to another with this new start Lyle. Please do post photos!

Can't wait to see your progress on this. I've built several Tamiya kits that included canopy masks and all of them had to cut out its easy enough with a straight edge and a new sharp blade.

Re: Tamiya P-38
I was waiting for this... Lyle working on a modern kit! Alright!
Yeah, Tamiya's masks are always uncut. Not too difficult to manually cut out with an x-acto blade but yeah, I agree... why not have them pre-cut???

I am 110% with you. Tamiya supplies masks, but you gotta cut them out yourself. I always screw it up and end up spending time fixing them

Re: Tamiya P-38
Is it the F/G or the J? I just got the J and it looks to be quite a piece of engineering. Looking forward to your build Lyle.
Thanks,

This is the “J”. Fit is extraordinary!
