Bandai Nausicaä figure

Post by BorgR3mc0 »

I deviated from my usual subject, aircraft and made this figure. It is a Bandai kit from the Ghibli movie Nausicaä Valley of the Wind.
The figures were painted using airbrush and brush.
I missed a seam on Ohmu, the big bug. But other than that I am happy with the result.

You would think that. However, movie is about how humans destroyed the earth and the horrendous looking Ohmu actually restore nature.
Humans bad, bugs good… the Japanese like to turn it around

And now, I will have nightmares. One ugly bug, but with good intentions? Looks great.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Very cool, Remco! I like that kind of classic Sci-Fi. Also your paintjob is absolutely superb!
Cheers,
Torben
