Trumpeter 1/72 Harbin H-5 Beagle

Post by BorgR3mc0 »

After the flat coat, I painted the final details, such as the exhausts and the pitot tube. The masking came off cleanly—that’s always a bit of a nerve-wracking moment! Finally, I added the antenna wires made from stretched sprue. It’s another one of those odd anachronisms on this aircraft.
As far as I'm concerned, this build is done. Just under the wire to get one more in the books for 2025!

All in all this kit is ok but not super. A 6 out of 10, fit does need some tweaking, panellines are a bit soft, gear is to long, cockpit to far inside the fuselage. Nothing which cannot be fixed easily but it does need work.

Bravo! *submitting praise* thank you so much for posting these final beauty shots of this aircraft, Remco! I think you should rate your work as 8.5 from a 6.0 quality kit. You've made it look authentic and blimey if that ain't some of the most restrained and realistic looking weather at any scale on any aircraft that I've seen in a good long time. That's so easy to over do and you didn't overdo it. Also, since this is "The ONE true scale," I must add that I don't see any scale at all here, I see a model of an aircraft that looks realistic and it has the quality of weight, real weight, maybe that's due to the correction of the too tall landing gear but this looks right. Again: BRAVO!

Nice finish! Those PLAAF light color finishes are hard to pull off properly, but you did so quite beautifully here. Very well done sir! :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:

Nice work on an old Cold War Russian bird. Not too often we find these built up. Well done, Remco! :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:
