What was your gamechanger?
As we progress with any skill, there's often a point where we have a sudden leap in understanding or ability. Often this is triggered by a new tool or (in our cases) a new kit, or a new technique that somebody has shown us. Its always so satisfying to have that little Eureka!! Moment. For me I think...

That's not my side GB?
So an idea I've been thinking of is a "That's not my side" or a "That's not my plane" GB. Take a famous pilot or ace (or tank if thats your persuasion). Take the markings from their vehicle. Put them on either the equivalent vehicle on the opposing side or their greatest adversar...

Re: Hasegawa 1/48 F-4N
Man that sucks. I had the updated version of this kit (30th anniversary phantom) that i was going to do as Kara Sahin. I sold it and all the parts when i moved to Canada. The new owner was most appreciative.

Re: What you have you never built in a kit?
Thats a very long list. Im not sure i have the character count or time to build them all/type it all out. A quick export from my wishlist. There are so many more than this on my "I want to build it" list. But its a start lol. Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress Bristol Beaufighter Consolidated B-2...

Re: Scorpiomikeys Secret Santa Build.

Re: Digital tools to help with your models??
Seems like there's a few paint apps, and a few stash apps, and google?
I wonder if there's a market for something like a details/accuracy app? Maybe with the ability to take a photo of a part that maybe doesn't look right and it can bring back photos or images to help correct it?

Re: Kinetic Sand
Its easily made at home too.
The most basic version is fine grain sand with some baby oil in it. Adding some corn starch will help it with is moldability and create a finer texture.
Its neat stuff, and can be used to create sand casts of small objects for molding in plastic or silicone.
