Man that's awesome. I love the A-10 stuff. Looks better than the crap I got from Phase Hangar Resin.

I need to redo the A-10 HUD, as it got too many supports when I angled it, but man what a good looking piece of design work. But those fans and that gun muzzle… I’ll probably print up more of those for the other A-10s in my stash…

Another weekend and another batch of prints…



These are, from left to right, British rations and 2 gallon “flimsy” cans for petrol & water, US 6 gallon oil drums, & fire extinguishers, and lastly German MG-34/42 ammo boxes, drinking water canisters, and weapons lube oil cans. Unfortunately, on the flimsies, I did not pay attention to the up/down orientation of the cans, so most of them were set up inverted, with the grab handles/pour spouts at the base where the printing supports attach… not sure how they will do when removed, so i scrubbed that file and set up a new one properly oriented.

Then lastly, I was asked about the scale of the Commonwealth tank crew, so I figured that I’d pose them on a build of mine for some scale reference. Here they are on my old Italeri Kangaroo Priest





I think they look pretty in scale here…

Thank you Lyle. This stuff requires a whole new batch of skills, and lots of patience while the item prints up. Did I screw up the computer settings when things go sideways, or did the printer goof up? But, it only does what it’s told to do…

But it gives me an excuse for more bench time as I wait for items to print up…

The printer itself is pretty easy to operate. It’s setting up each individual printing program that takes work. And of course there is a trial and error phase with getting the basic settings of the printer going.

There are plenty of different wooden crate files available. I download and printed up a couple for the British rations. I still have lots of Value Gear crates in my spares right now so no rush on those.

You know what's really missing from the market is the small rocket pods that aircraft like the A-10 use. I know there's a couple of them out there but not many.

Those are available… just not on a free file. I took some from a Fujimi Cobra to put on my F-20 several years back. But yes, you can get oodles of the 19 shot rocket pods from various sources, but the 7 shot pods, old or new are much harder to come by.

I'd third that. Some of the lesser known ordnance is really hard to find.

Thanks to 3D printing, I've finally managed to get hold of some of those practice bomb carriers that RAF used to use a lot of.
